What was the name of that movie, "The Money Pit???"

THE FIRST THING I DID,
was update the ride, with Magnum 500 wheels and new tires. When this picture was taken it had 60 series rubber, it now rides on 215-70-14 Goodyear white letters. |
Inside things were good, bad, and ugly!
The front was all a mess, the rear looked like this car had been owned by a single person with bad breath, no one ever got in here! |

JoAnne and I did the seats and carpet.
J.C. Whitney (God love 'um) was the source for an economical set of covers, and Trim Parts had the necessary wall to wall carpet. |
Early progress...
I dyed the door panels to match the new seating area and carpet, and I have started painting the door jams for the new outside color, which in 63 was code "X" for a metallic burgundy.

The dash was completely dismantled,
painted satin black, and the instrument cluster was re finished. Here I have installed an AM FM in the radio hole. The new carpet has arrived since this photo. |
FINALLY, new paint after 3 years of waiting and prep
J&M Body Shop, also here in Gadsden, took it apart, and sprayed on a half-ton of 2005 Ford Merlot, which is extremely close to X code Heritage Burgundy in the 60's. Then a full ton of clear coat, and I started on re finishing the anodized aluminum trim. OOS, (not NOS) bumpers shined up nicely!

The engine compartment
Mitch Foster, of Etowah Auto Parts, here in Gadsden, Alabama, put on the intake and Pertronix spark unit for me. Then I did the clean up and detail under the hood. We have the 5.0 factory aluminum intake, Holley four barrel, the Accel wires, new Autolite 45 plugs, yadda, yadda, yadda.. |
